Research Interests

Marine magnetism, deeptow and submersible magnetics.  Magnetization of 
oceanic crust, Fine-scale magnetic signals.  Rock magnetism and 
geomagnetism, Physical properties of oceanic crust.  Mid-ocean ridge 
processes including the formation and evolution of ocean crust and 
hydrothermal systems.  Image processing, geophysical forward and 
inverse modelling techniques.

Research Cruises

Scientist and participant in 32 cruises since 1980 including research vessels:
T. WASHINGTON, NAUTILE/NADIR, ALVIN/ATLANTIS II, YOKOSUKA/SHINKAI, T.G. THOMPSON, 
C.S.S TULLY, C.S.S. HUDSON, NOAA DISCOVERER, WECOMA, JAMES CLARK ROSS, MELVILLE. 
Diver on 10 submersible cruises (ALVIN, NAUTILE and SHINKAI).  Deeptow and ROV surveys 
on many cruises including magnetics, gravity, sidescan, seismics and camera studies. Reflection 
seismics, multi-beam bathymetry, sea surface and aero-magnetic surveys.
